Our # 9 Pick... Sweet Filthy Boy

Hello Fabulous Readers!

This book was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say that I am sooooo glad that I read it. It is one of the funniest, sweetest and filthiest books I read this year!

Description:

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Why I LOVE It:

Ansel... Ansel... Ansel... Did I mention Ansel?

Mia and her two friends have just graduated from college and have decided to go on a vacation in Las Vegas. While they are there, they set up with Ansel, a very hot and charming frenchman, and his two friends (imagine the odds on that one?) and have a wonderful evening. Ansel even has given her a nickname of Cerise, because her lips are cherry red. (Yeah, like I said he is hot!)

But when the morning comes, Mia finds herself hung over and married to Ansel, who won't give her an annulment until after the summer is over because he made a promise to Mia's drunk self. So for her, what happened in Vegas won't be staying in Vegas.

Ansel invites her to stay the summer with him in Paris, and she turns him down originally (which makes me question her sanity, I mean a summer in Paris with a hot guy who you are now married to and you say no?) Well fortunately she comes to her senses and after a few issues at home, decides to use the plane ticket Ansel left for her and meets him at the airport. When she arrives she sees a very pleasantly surprised Ansel at the gate and boards the plane with images of a fun summer ahead.

Once she boards the plane, she realizes that her new husband is a nervous flyer and half way through the flight she is hit with the stomach flu, and yes, the whole plane became aware of that humiliating disaster. She of course deals with using such dignity, that we all would if we were in the same situation...

"Even though I have to concentrate fully on walking as I trip down toward the bathroom, in my head I am glaring back at them. Have they ever been sick on a plane full of five hundred people, including their new stranger-husband? No? Then they can shut the hell up."

Yeah, this whole scene on the place was hilarious because it just goes from bad to worse. Trust me, you will be laughing out loud, and squirming with awkwardness, throughout this whole exchange.

So needless to say poor Mia's pride was wounded for the first week as she recovered from the flu, but Ansel was the sweetest guy about it, he took care of her and even took her to the doctor.

"Come on Cerise. You are burning up. Let me put you in the shower and then we are going to the doctor. I worry. You are making me worry."

Sigh... if that doesn't say love, I don't know what does.

Mia finally recovers from that experience and is able to tour Paris, while Ansel is at work during the day. He leaves her notes every morning  with French phrases such as "Which way to the metro?" and "Why no, I'm not interested. My husband is perfect."

When he comes home though, all bets are off and they spend some steamy nights at home and yes those scenes you can see why he is a filthy boy as well! Yum!

"I was in a meeting yesterday and when they called my name I had no idea what anyone was talking about. All I could think about was the way your cherry lips look stretched around my c*ock, and then last night...oh. The things I'll imagine today."

Yep, he officially became my number one book boyfriend right then and there!

As the summer comes to a close, Mia and Ansel have fallen very hard for each other. Neither of them had expected it to get this far (I have no idea why they didn't see it, I did, but hey I am just the observer!)  However, Ansel's past does come out to stir up trouble. Mia must decide if Ansel and their marriage is worth staying and fighting for or if she should just go home and take this summer for what she had originally intended to -- a fun summer in Paris.

This book had me laughing a lot and it also had some hot steamy scenes that had me melting. Go get this book and trust me you will be thanking me for it!

Our #10 Pick... Isla and The Happily Ever After

Hello Fabulous Readers!

Here is our #10 pick of 2014. It is the final book in a series that finally came out this year. I read the other 2 last year and got PA hooked on it this year when she joined me in "Book World" as we  call it. It is one of three YA on our countdown.

Description:
Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

Why I Love It:

I loved Anna and the French Kiss, St. Claire will always be my #1 guy in this series, but I have to say, Josh is a close second!

Isla is the main character and narrator of this heartwarming little tale. BTW her name is pronounced "eye-la" and her parents named her after in Prince Edward Island, which is where she was conceived (yeah, I wouldn't want to be named after a place I was conceived either, feel your pain there girl).

Since her freshman year at SOAP, Isla has had a crush on our boy Josh who was in the first book as St. Claire's best friend and boyfriend to Rashmi. During their freshman year, Isla was reading a comic book at lunch that Josh read too. He came up to her and started a conversation, but seeing as how Isla was awkward around him, Josh took it as rejection and left her alone after that. Isla, beat herself up over that for the next three years (and frankly what teenage girl doesn't beat herself up over something like that?)

The true heart of this story begins over the summer between Isla and Josh's junior and senior year and Isla has just had some dental work done and is a little high on Vicodin. She enters a restaurant in NYC and well, well, well, who does she see but her crush Josh. Needless to say, being high on Vicodin gives her the courage to talk to him (kinda like what drinking does for some of us ;)), and at times during the interaction poor Isla gets a little confused. Thankfully Josh takes it all in stride.

"Kismet is closing."
"What's Kismet?"
"Fate," he says.
"What?"
"The name of this cafe."
"Oh. okay."

Fast forward to the fall and it is now it is their senior year and Isla is assigned to Josh's old room and couldn't be happier about it (what girl wouldn't right?)  Josh, on the other hand, is all alone. His friends have all graduated and he really doesn't have anyone to talk to so he stirs up trouble and skips class sighting Jewish holidays as his reason for missing class (though he really isn't religious in fact he is an atheist).  The only thing he works on is his comic book which is an autobiography that he has been drawing since his freshman year.

When Josh does decide to go to class, he does take an interest in Isla and begins to talk to her. It seems as though our boy Josh is trying to woo her again and this time, he isn't going to give up  (yea Josh!). In fact, he makes it very obvious when he comes back from his "against the rules" trip to Munich when he brings Isla a beer stein because he was thinking about her.

"You know that I like you. Right?"

She is shocked and flattered and says something quite ballsy for her.

" So stay here next weekend. Go out with me." (GO ISLA!!!)

They go on a few dates (the first one was a hoot I tell you!) and really start to fall for each other. You can see how well suited they are for one another and root for them to find their HEA. However, one of their dates is an ill fated trip that causes a lot of problems for them both and Josh takes the heat and gets expelled. This hurts Isla and she and Josh do the whole long distance thing, until she can get home for Christmas.

When she gets home for Christmas, things between her and Josh start off just fine. Then misunderstandings and insecurities mess things up for the two of them (because hey,  it wouldn't be a good story if their wasn't conflict) and they end up having to take a good look at themselves and what they truly want.

I won't tell you anymore, because you should discover for yourself how Isla and Josh both follow their own paths to self discovery and find out what really is important to themselves and to each other.

VA's Wild Card Review # 2 Ugly Love

Hello Fabulous Readers!

I hope you enjoyed our last posts and I am happy to share today's selection  with you. It is another favorite of mine, and I can't wait to share it with you!

Description:

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Why I LOVE it:

It's Colleen Hoover... isn't that enough of a reason?!?!

I am such a huge fan of Colleen Hoover that I look forward to any book that she writes because I know that I am going to be in for a ride each time I open one of her books. There are always twists and turns that you don't see coming and of course heartbreaking situations that keep you reading because you just want to see these people get their, um... stuff (to keep it clean) together and get to their HEA that they deserve.

Just like in every book she writes, there is no villain in this story (which I have to say is a breath of fresh air, not that I don't like a good villain, I just think that some stories don't need it).

This book is told from two different points of view and in two different points of time. The present day story line is told by Tate, a girl who is moving in with her brother who is a pilot. As she is entering the hallway of her new apartment complex, she finds a very drunk man leaning against the front door. She freaks out a little (I mean who wouldn't right?) and is able to get into her place without disturbing the drunk guy and calls her brother. As it turns out, the drunk man is her brother's friend and neighbor, Miles. Upon the advise of her brother, she lets him in to the place sleep it off. He clearly was drinking to forget something and even calls Tate by another girl's name (though in his defense, he didn't know Tate so that was okay, that time anyway).  She leaves Miles on the couch and then goes to bed.

The next morning, Tate is woken up by a very rude Miles walking into her room demanding to know what happened to his hand and where his phone is. Tate, who is not a morning person (amen, sister!) and doesn't take any crap off of anyone,  tells him off and asks him to leave. This is what I love about Tate, she doesn't take any of his crap, even though she is attracted to him.

"When you come back in an hour and I've had a chance to wake up, we can try this again."

"Try what again?"

"Getting off on the right foot."

So after that altercation, you are left to think that Miles is just a jerk who has a few things to learn in the ways of treating a woman. Yet there is the other point of view, which is Miles, but is from six years earlier.  Back then, Miles was in high school and nice guy (who would have guessed?). He was falling in love with a girl to the point of which, he starts telling his story through poetry (another Colleen Hoover trademark).

       "She's like poetry.
Like prose and love letters and
        lyrics, cascading down
          the
           center
          of
          a
           page."

Yeah... the boy is a goner, sigh.

So you are left to wonder "what happened to that Miles, are you sure this is the same guy?" Yes, readers, it is the same guy, and yes, there is a reason he has changed six years later into the most closed off, cold man Tate has ever met.

Throughout the book, you know that present day Miles is struggling with his attraction to Tate, and you really don't know why. You are only given a few glimpses into his past, but not enough to know exactly what his deal is until later.

"If I were capable of loving someone...it would be you."

Miles finally does give into it, well... to a point. He tells her not to ask about the past, and don't expect a future. Basically an acquaintance- with- benefits type deal.  Of course we all know how well those situations work out. :) He runs hot and cold with her and, Tate, is surprisingly patient with the man even after some of the stunts he pulled. Let me tell you, after what he did the first time they had sex, I would have kicked him to the curb. Tate didn't though, and I don't mean that she is a push over in any way, because she wasn't. She just knew that Miles was suffering from a broken heart and she doesn't know how to help him heal.

"You deserve so much more than what you're allowing yourself to have."

Now doesn't that line just pull at the heart strings?

I could go more into this book, but I would be giving away to many plot twists, which believe me there are a few I didn't see coming! Those twists are part of the journey that makes this book so powerful, that you have to experience it by reading it for yourself. But hey, don't take my word for it. ;)

PA Wild Card #2- Be With Me by: J. Lynn

17558817

Description:

Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.

Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

Why I Love It:

J.Lynn who is also known as Jennifer Armentrout wrote this book.  She started this series with Wait for You and Be With Me.  Those stories focus on Camden, Teresa's brother and how he found his HEA.  I have to say that I absolutely loved Camden's story and am sad that it wasn't published in 2014, otherwise it would have been on the countdown.  So if you find yourself with some extra time this holiday season, I encourage you to check those two books out as well.  But I digress from why we are really here.  My second wild card pick is Be With Me.  This book focuses on Camden's sister Teresa (Tess) and his best friend Jase.  You can see what I'm hinting at right?

"I obsessively remembered everything I'd ever learned about Jase in a way I imagined Justin Bieber fans did about him.  Embarrassing as that sounded, it was true.  Jase unbeknownst to him and the entire world, had come to mean a lot of things to me in the last three years.
A friend.
My brother's saving grace.
And the source of my crush."

Teresa was a dancer, a great one, until an incident had put her hopes and dreams of becoming a professional dancer on hold.  She had torn her ACL and attends college where Camden and Jase go. Jase and Tess shared a kiss about a year ago but Jase doesn't think that he is good Tess so he stayed away...until now.  When they first meet, you can cut the sexual tension with a knife.  You can tell that they are still clearly attracted to each other and they both care for the other.

"I'm sorry...What happened between us?  It shouldn't have..."

Tess tried to do everything she could to stay away from Jase after his comment.  (I mean wouldn't you, it doesn't exactly make you swoon.)  It was a little hard to stay away from him when they had a class together and even harder when you demanded to give you a ride to class.  At this point, Jase is torn about his feelings for Tess and his need to protect her and he plays a little hot and cold action.  This is the one part that irritates me about Jase.  He would go out of his way to spend time with her and then he would try to push her away the next. I do understand his hesitance to tell her his secret and that's the real reason he's pushing her away, which doesn't make me hate him.  But this was the most frustrating part of the book for me.

“I love you like I love cupcakes.”

So Jase ends up getting drunk one night and dropping by Tess's dorm further explain his comment with a yummy sweet treat.  "Almost yummy as me" as he puts it.  Jase...cupcake...Jase...cupcake.  OK Jase, especially if he keeps bring cupcakes.  He explains that he really cares for her,but he really shouldn't have acted on his feelings "...because you're Cam's little sister.  You're untouchable."  After that night, he ends up buying different types of cupcakes for Tess every time her sees her.  OMG!  Can we say adorable?

“We need to tell your brother."

And that would be terrifying. For Jase. But I smiled. "Maybe I'll just update my Facebook to 'in a relationship' and tag you?"

Jase snickered and then dropped another kiss on my forehead. "That should go over well.”

Tess and Jase end up giving in to their feelings and they start dating.  I think we know what happens next...they have to tell Camden or rather Camden ends up finding out before they get a chance to tell him.  Yes, you can expect his reaction to not be too happy for his sister and best friend.  But Camden ends up being the least of their problems.

“Oh God,” Jase groaned, rubbing a hand down his jaw. “She’s a friend, Dad.”
“Uh-huh.” His father backed up, picking up the bucket. “Friends with a pretty gal like that, then you’re doing something wrong, son.”

Jase ends up bringing Tess home to spend time with his family, especially his little brother Jack.  He has never brought a girl home before.  So this is a big deal.  You can really tell how Jase struggles in this book.  He is so torn because he knows that this girl Tess is amazing and he really wants to be with her, but then he still hasn't revealed his secret.

“You know, I’ve tried staying away from you. I’ve tried ignoring how I feel about you, which isn’t how I should feel. But it’s like fighting a losing battle. And I don’t want to fight it anymore. I don’t want to ignore this.”

Almost half-way through the book, things take an ugly turn for Tess.  She is in a situation similar to her past.  But this time, she does things differently.  But this also cause major consequences for her future.  She is forced to make a decision about her life, one that could effect her and Jase.

This is only the tip of the iceberg.  There is so much more to this story, but I don't want to give it all away.  I hope that you will read this book.  This story shows the growth of not only Jase, but Tess as well.  They both have some issues to deal with in the book, and they both man up and deal with it.  And there is definitely a point of no return in this book.  You reach a certain point in the book, where you just can't put it down.  Amazing read!

Happy Reading!

Hello Fellow Readers,

We decided to bring you our top 10 favorite books published in 2014, as we count in the new year.  When we were sitting in a winery and picking books of our top 10, we had some left over that we had to include on our list.  So we brought you...The Wild Cards!  We have four to share with you over the next two days.  Look for two from me, and two from VA.  My first wild card is Promising You by: Allie Everhart.  This is part of "The Jade Series."  Warning: This happens to be the fourth book in the series, but I recommend that you read the other four books before this one.  There is a lot of plot you will miss if you don't read them first.  Without further ado, I give you my first wild card.

Description:

When Jade first arrived at Moorhurst College, she never imagined that the guy who helped her move in would end up being the guy she wants to be with forever. Now, seven months later, Jade and Garret are starting to talk about a future together. But the people around Jade are planting doubts in her mind, questioning her decision to be part of the Kensington family. Behind their lavish lifestyle are obligations and commitments that Garret may not be able to free himself from.

One of these obligations is something Garret never knew about. Even his father wasn’t aware of what’s in store for his son. And once he finds out, it seems there’s nothing he can do about it.

Just when Jade and Garret thought their problems were over, this new challenge emerges. Garret learns something that could change his future forever. And Jade’s future as well.

As the school year comes to a close, will Jade and Garret get the happy ending they deserve? Or will bigger forces intervene? Garret promised Jade he’d always be there for her. But can he keep his promise?

Why I Like It:

So VA had suggested this series to me and wasn't sure if I was going to like it.  It was on her list to tell me about but I didn't get that I was gonna love it feeling.  Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  While this is a romance YA series, it wasn't just the story of two people falling in love.  Jade and Garrett have so much more going on in their lives, besides just going to college.  Jade has had a tough family life to say the least and has a hard time trusting.  Garrett comes from a rich family. This is not your typical book where the rich guy gets everything he wants, quite far from it.  Nothing seems to be easy with Garrett and his family.

The fourth book starts after Jade has found out a major secret about her family.  Jade struggled with this accepting this secret and has to deal with deciding who to trust.  Part of this secret includes the now dead Royce Sinclair.  Sinclair was part of a secret organization and was in line to be the next president.  Now the secret organization is scrambling to resolve the problem with their plan.  This causes problems for Jade and Garrett and impacts their lives in this book.

"I know sometimes I say or do things that make you think I won't stick around, but it's not how I feel.  I want to stick around.  I want this-us-to be my future.  I don't want this to ever end."

The secret organization plans to remedy this problem by punishing Garrett's father and makes Garrett as part of their plan to become the next president.  They are going to put him the the best colleges to give him the best education and train him to work his way up to be the next president.  Sounds good right, except that this plan doesn't include Jade.  This plan requires Garrett to give up the one thing he loves the most.

An ex girlfriend of Garretts starts up her reality show again.  The first season aired when Garrett and Ava were dating.  This second season is about to air and they have started rumors that Garrett and Ava are still dating.  Wait!  Isn't he dating Jade?  This show only helps out his popularity and likeability and only secures the organization's plan.  At first, he wants to decline, but the they make it very hard to say no when they start threatening Jade's life.  In order to protect her, Garrett gives up Jade.

"You lied to me about us! You said I could have this forever. You said if we ever broke up it would be because I did it, not you. You said nobody could ever break us apart unless we let them. And like an idiot, I believed you!"

This devistates Jade.  She trusted him to protect her and never leave her.  He had wormed his way into her life and now he was gone.  Trust was hard for Jade.  But she learned to trust Garrett and accept his love and understand why he loved her.  She had just come to terms and the next thing she knows, he's been ripped away from her.  Eventually, Jade decides not to give up and comes up with a plan to make the secret organization change their mind and get the love of her life back.

"I love you more than anything in this world, Jade.  And when I promised you forever, I meant it."

I didn't want to give to much away about the plot, but a lot happens in this book.  Allie Everhart does a great job with the storyline in these beginning books.  She has good twists and turns that you don't see coming, great characters and not to mention some great cliff hangers that make it hard to put these books down.  So if you find yourself with some extra time this holiday season, I highly recommend you read these books.

VA's Wild Card Selection #1

Hello all!

In our countdown of the top 10 books of 2014, PA and I had so many more favorites than we had slots open so we decided to have 2 wild card selections each. Today I am posting my first wild card slot.

Description:

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

Why I LOVE it:

This book was a pleasant surprise for me. I picked it up on a whim and fell in love with Archer. He was a honorable man who had shut himself off from the world when a tragedy cost him his voice and his family. He was considered an outcast that people in the community misunderstood, and Archer made no effort to change.

"It's been this way for a long time... it's fine. It works for everyone involved."

It wasn't until Bree came to town and met Archer that his world began to change. He started falling for Bree and in doing so wanted to improve himself to become worthy of Bree.

"You can't hear me... I can't help that. But I want you to see me."

Archer had many successes and failures in his quest to better himself and at one time made a big decision to turn things around for himself that Bree wasn't all that thrilled about. However, in the end,  Archer realized that ultimately, he was worthy of Bree's love and always had been.

"Only you, only ever you... her love slips quietly around me, holding me, anchoring me, reminding me that the loudest words are the ones we live."

Archer broke my heart many times in this book but he also warmed it as well. I have to say, my favorite scene was when he was getting his hair cut from Bree (you know which scene I mean if you have read it ;) ). The resulting scene from that was also very sweet as Bree had to show patience with Archer and his limited life experiences.

Check it out next time you are looking for a great heartwarming read!

Look for it here on Amazon   or  on   Barnes and Noble

Bender by Stacy Borel

Bender

Description:

All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal space, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

PA Review:

This is my first official book review on our blog.  Yay!  I am thrilled to be reviewing this book by Stacy Borel.  Bender was an easy read that had sweet and funny moments with a little bit of hot romance mixed in.

"I was looking to make a change.  To get out of the rut I'd been living in."

Keegan was living with her mother and younger sister and was basically at her mom's beckoning call to help out with her younger sister.  Her mother was constantly asking her to watch her little sister and in result she wasn't able to make study groups to keep up her grades and get accepted into nursing school.   Keegan loved her little sister and never was upset with her for her mom's mistakes.  When her mother finally went to far, Keegan decided it was time to move out.

"Just a regular ad.  Except it was misleading, and what I got was so not normal.  In fact, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to..."

Keegan's friend, Macie decides to help look for apartments.  Keegan responds to three ads and sets up an appointment to go visit them in one day.  First apartment, the guy is well...creepy, the second apartment was a goth chic who's in a band...too loud.  Third times a charm when she meets Dodger.  He's very nice, not a creeper, no loud music (perfect for studying) and has an amazing apartment close to campus.  SOLD!  Except...Dodger doesn't live there, his brother Camden does.

"You were made for me blue.  You are my person."

Camden owns a gym, works out a lot and is really... well....HOT!!  The first night, he brings another woman back to the apartment rubbing it in Keegan's face.  Despite his actions like he doesn't care, he still manages to wake up and make her breakfast the next morning.

"...with that one look, I knew you were the girl who could ruin me."

As time goes by Keegan and Camden spend more time together and the walls start to break down on both sides.  They start to learn to trust one another and a relationship begins to blossom.

While Keegan had some low self-esteem, she had strong ethics when it came to school and affording how to live.  She definitely worked hard for what she had and didn't rely on others to give her what she needed.  Even though she had low self-esteem, I didn't find her whiny, annoying or weak.  I can relate to Keegan in a lot of ways.  I think most girls can relate to having low self-esteem about something that bother's them about themselves.  Even more props for Keegan, she did something about it.  She worked on the issues that she was self-concious about.

Camden on the other hand, was very strong and dominant.  I have to say, I wasn't a big fan of his at first.  In the beginning, he was very rude to Keegan and generally seemed not to care.  No spoilers from me, but you do find out by the end why he was rude to her.  Camden definitely won me over.  He seemed to be a good fit for Keegan.  She needed a strong person in her life to help build her up and that's only a part of what he was to her.  He helped her in more ways than I think she ever could have imagined.

This book was a great read.  It was funny, entertaining, a wonderful story to let you know that you never know when you will meet someone that can change your life.  Oh and did I mention the romance.  This book had some hot and steamy parts that would make you have to wipe the condensation off your window. ;)  This book pairs well with: some alone time, couch, fireplaces, snow days and any day of the week.  I can't wait to read book #2 Slider!
